I modeled for PROUD
There are very few people in this world who would get me to model for them and Pewa Uushona, founder of PROUD, is one of them.
In April this year, Pewa decided to reimagine graduation fits. Move away from the standard dresses to structured pieces that command power and character.
She asked me to be a part of the shoot as she felt the pieces resonated with my style. She in fact called me the muse for it.
Shot by NOVIX studio, here’s a look at the pieces.
The Suit
There’s something about a maxi skirt made from suiting fabric that just does it for me. For this look, she paired it with a structured bomber-style suit jacket, but the real star? The detachable pleated belt that layers perfectly over the skirt, pulling the whole look together.
Pewa’s own outfit is an ankle-length blazer cut from the same fabric. I can actually picture someone throwing a graduation gown over this and still having it all make sense. It’s not your typical suit, it’s feminine, powerful, and unexpected.
The Fun
For the second look, Pewa put us in black, and it ate.
She styled me in three-quarter wide-leg shorts paired with a sleeveless suit-fabric vest. I added a red cap, white socks, and loafers to bring that extra pop and make it feel like me.
Pewa wore a stunning long-sleeve mini dress, detailed with fitted buttons running all the way down. Classic, bold, and effortlessly powerful.
I genuinely loved all the looks. I've been styling the pieces religiously since, and they’ve quickly become staples in my wardrobe.
Would 10/10 recommend adding some PROUD pieces to your closet. Statement makers, through and through.
